Yes, Linda Ikeji and Laila have earned their place in my heart, and so they are my unsung heroes.
Today I embark on a journey of gratitude inspired by knowledge of those who have colored my life one way or the other; those unsung heroes. In the course of trying to survive, sometimes we forget GRATITUDE. I’ve discovered how profound it is to give flowers to those who have imparted in our lives one way or the other. Today I give all my flowers to the famous blogger Linda Ikeji who runs www.lindaikejisblog.com and chains of other businesses. I also extend my Flower to Ijeoma Laila, owner of www.lailasblog.com.
This is a soul-stirring reflection from when I discovered their blog sometime in 2012 or so. I must confess, since then my social life has never been the same. As I recount the instances that shaped my admiration for these unsung heroes, I feel a symphony of emotions.
I was just a young copper serving in Jigawa. A certain friend introduced me to the blogs. I got consumed. I wrote my name in gold as a true Arewa breed. I won giveaways. I made friends who have come to be so much part of my life.
And so many others…., pls take your flowers 🌺🌹💐🏵️💮🌻🪻
These women made me discover my potential. Their blog gave me a voice. The platforms also allowed me to alter opinions about some stereotypical assumptions. Yes, I am from the North. Yes, I’m Christian. Yes, I’m female. Yes, the North is a hotbed of Boko Haram. Especially at the time 👌. And I hope I did my best.
I have never met Linda before but I’m grateful that she’s part of my story 🙏. I’ve met Laila. This is a heartfelt narrative about silent influencers like them doing their thing and not knowing how much they’ve touched lives. With a heart full of reflection, I pray for more blessings in their lives 🙏
They rose by lifting me unknowingly 😁…. This act of influence shouldn’t go unremembered and not ‘unpenned’.
