In a world where mental health concerns often linger in the shadows, the clarion call for Mental Health Advocacy reverberates louder than ever. It illuminates paths toward understanding, compassion, and holistic support for those navigating the intricate landscape of mental well-being.

A Gbagi woman in this Abuja took sniper & ended her life last night in my area. I’m just finding out that she collected online loans from loan apps.

According to grapevine info, the woman took ill. Probably BP and she wasn’t getting better. The elder brother was crestfallen. The family were worried. Life stood still for them. So the brother told her that he was gonna take her to Kaduna for traditional treatment… None of them knew what was killing her from within. Depression.‼️

Just a few hours after the brother’s announcement, wailing engulfed our community. The woman ended her life. She couldn’t stand the embarrassment. She couldn’t justify her reason for borrowing. She couldn’t understand how she could out of the storm. All she had as a companion was the moonless 🌙 midnight of the mind.

She was buried that same yesterday because it was an abominable act.

Why am I sharing this? Most of you are familiar with my story. This was me a few years ago. I understand the darkness, the pain, the lethargy, the ennui and the sense of self-worthlessness.

I wish she’d reached out. I wish I knew her. I could have told her about my experience and how I scaled through. I’m here. I survived. I wish she did too and I’m not shy nor afraid to tell my story …

Pls if you’re here and you’re reading this post with a heavy heart because you too borrowed from a loan app, I’m always here for you. Always! I’ve got you 💪.

May we never be in a position to owe that we’ll contemplate suicide. People won’t understand why and I’m not encouraging borrowing, but I understand.

Pls, soro soke 📢‼️❗
